Pros

  • Launches Google Maps in a standalone Chrome window
  • Loads faster than visiting the actual Google Maps website
  • Most features are retained in this version of Google Maps

Cons

  • Random graphical bugs and glitches may show up during use
  • The launcher may seem redundant to some users

App Launcher For Google Maps opens a standalone window for Google Maps. This Chrome browser extension is lightweight and quite useful. Although some users might not see the point of the launcher, its version of Google Maps works well. The launcher version actually loads faster than visiting Google Maps in a regular browser window. It's a simple concept that brings all of the platform's features to a dedicated window.

When users click the App Launcher icon for Google Maps, the program loads in its own window. URL bar and other information disappears to present the platform like a mobile app. Fortunately, such a setup leads to faster loading times and a much more lightweight experience. All of the typical features found in regular Maps are found here as well. Users don't have to worry about losing features with this launcher.

Then again, App Launcher for Google Maps isn't perfect. Some graphical glitches and issues persist during regular use. Users may notice that Satellite View features strange outlines. A number of other issues may appear from time to time. Nonetheless, App Launcher for Google Maps is an excellent solution for Chrome browser users. Faster loading times alone are more than worth the time it takes to download this extension.
